Description of undergraduate participation

As a lab we are interested in the Big 5 personality trait of Agreeableness and how it relates to various social behaviors including prosociality, close relationships, and social influence. We also collaborate with the School of Engineering Education looking at how personality influences student interest in STEM majors and careers.  Our projects include the following:

1.  Studying the relationship between agreeableness, theory of mind, and interpretation of conflict in close relationships

2.  Studying if agreeable people are more likely to conform using certain tactics of influence

3.  Perceptions of prosocial behavior in close relationships

4. The relationship between Person-Thing Orientation and message framing regarding presentation of STEM majors/careers

Undergraduate research assistants will work as an experimenter and/or confederate (i.e. you will have direct contact with participants) and may also work on literature reviews and IRB applications.
