Fred & Dorine Santogrossi Study Abroad Award

Purpose: Presented each year to a Psychological Sciences major who participates in the Study Abroad Program to help defray costs of travel and expenses. (Note: Students studying abroad during the spring 2011 semester are eligible and can submit their applications prior to leaving. However, they will not know of the award decision until after their semester abroad has begun.)

Deadline: January 21 of each year


1 Award @ $1,200


Criteria and selection: Selected by the Undergraduate Committee of the Department of Psychological Sciences based on academic excellence (min. 3.2 GPA) and financial need, as well as suitability of the experience for meeting the student's educational objectives. (Students are not required to take PSY courses while abroad.)


Application materials:

  • Vita/Resume
  • Letter of recommendation from a faculty member in the Department of Psychological Sciences (send directly to the contact person listed below)
  • Description of why s/he expects to gain from the study abroad experience as it relates to educational objectives and career aspirations.
  • Statement of financial need (as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)).

Materials may be mailed or e-mailed to the Director of Undergraduate Studies or placed in his mailbox in PRCE.
