Reseach Interests

Research in our laboratory is in the combined areas of personality, psychopathology, and perception. The MMPl and other psychometric devices are used to identify individuals thought to be at risk for developing maladaptive personality styles. The information-processing abilities of individuals currently experiencing, or at risk of developing, dysfunctional coping strategies are assessed. Although schizophrenia spectrum investigations have been of primary interest, a diathesis-stress approach has been applied to other forms of psychopathology (e.g., substance abuse, antisocial personality disorder, affective disorders) by our group in attempts to isolate trait and state characteristics.
